During this pandemic there’s content that I’m grateful to have at my disposal. There’s a handful of podcasts, news shows and talk shows that are still being produced. One of these shows that is still being produced under this quarantine is The Bonfire on Comedy Central radio on Sirius XM.
The Bonfire is a comedy talk show featuring comics Big Jay Oakerson and Dan Soder. The show often has comedian guests but Oakerson and Soder have no problem carrying the show on their own.
The show is still being produced from home four days a week during this quarantine. It’s great to be able to tune in during the show’s regular schedule and hear the two take on current trends such as the Netflix Documentary The Tiger King, discuss the finer parts of the reality show “Love After Lockup,” or my personal favorite, the show’s ongoing obsession with anything Corey Feldman.
Check out this insane interview with fighter Tyson Fury from The Bonfire.
Oakerson and Soder are both respectable comics in their right. Oakerson is the co-host of several successful podcasts such as the Legion of Skanks and featured on the Netflix series The Degenerates. Soder debuted an HBO hour special this year and has a reoccurring role on the Showtime series “Billions,” which is in its fifth season.
With all this time being spent at home, few things bring me joy as much as knowing they’ll be a new episode of The Bonfire for me to listen to Monday through Thursday each afternoon. The Covid-19 virus can’t put out the flames of The Bonfire.
